Playgroup 1 & 2 – (AgeS 1 - 2)

Playhouse

Great services assured

Our Playhouse is a fantastic place for your child to take his or her first steps on the educational ladder and to learn how to interact with other children in a safe space. We believe in a holistic approach to the teaching of young children, an approach that encompasses all their needs at this crucial early stage of their development.

1:8 Teacher to Child ratio.

Once your child can walk, up until they reach 3 years of age, they can participate in our toddler classes. We guarantee a maximum caregiver/pupil ratio of 1:8. This enables us to provide plenty of encouragement and support to your child at all times. At this stage, the teachers are focused on helping the children to express themselves creatively and to explore to their heart’s content. The daily program we follow for children of this age is based on the EYFS and includes plenty of interactive, physical activities.

We love Variety!

In the Playhouse class children begin to show confidence and independence as they start to explore on a whole new level using their limbs and all the senses. They will experience social skills, creative development and develop communication skills by exploring with paints, collage materials, sensory items, water play, jelly play and pasta play (cooked and uncooked).

ACTIVITIES

How we engage your child.

Children at this age shows endless energy and curiosity, we aim to challenge this appropriately through the following:

Water Play

It will encourage them to explore mathematical language such as full, empty, half full, heavy or light.

Construction

This encourages them to experiment with building blocks and junk modelling which further develop their counting skills.

Creative skills

Children will carry out lot of fun activities and experiment with a range of collage objects through painting and sticking.

Potty Training

This will begin in this class and as this level of independence really kicks in, helping them to develop in confidence.

Interpersonal skills

This will develop their social skills, build relationships and help them learn about sharing and the world around them.

Reading

We use a special programme in which children learn how to read and identify simple words using the Jolly Phonics methodology.
